Reflecting on our time in Cambodia, I realize that seeing children smile and enjoying themselves really lightens up my day. Although they may not be in the most ideal situation, knowing that we were able to bring them a little bit of joy and laughter in the time that we spent with them is good enough for me. The most important thing that I have learned from this trip is that as a person I can only do so much; I don’t and won’t always have the means to change their situation for good. With that being said, as many others before me have stated, it is better to be of service then to just simply write out a check, for who knows where your money is really going. Being of service can be done in many ways. They need not be huge; all you really need is a moment of time.
