Wow! It has already been two weeks since the first day that we arrived in Cambodia, and it seems as if it was only yesterday. There’s so much that has happened within only these two short weeks that I don’t even know where to start.
I am currently sitting at the Korean airport thinking about all of the things we have done and all of the people and children we have met. I realize that it was not the things we did or the temples we visited that will have an everlasting impression on me, but rather the people we met along the way–from the tuk-tuk drivers, to Cham and Rith, and to the grandma I shared mangoes with on the bus.
One thing that I am taking away from this trip is how much a simple exchange of words or hand gestures can do. I have learned and taken away so much from just having conversations with people in Cambodia. Within these conversations I was able to gain insight on the realities of different people who live lives that are different from my own.
